Sierra & Dylan are Married!

Sierra and Dylan were married at the Long Acres Barn in Winston Salem, North Carolina on November 14th. During the planning process they ended up having to move their venue and Long Acres was an amazing place for the day. Their wedding turned out perfectly and I am so excited to share it here.

Sierra and Dylan first saw each other back in 2017 at while they were both training at their local volunteer fire department. Sierra said they didn’t talk for almost a year but they both remembered each other. Sierra said that it may sound cheesy but she thinks it was love at first sight. After about a year apart and rarely seeing each other, they began working together more and being partners whenever they could. Their friendship began to grow.

Sierra’s Mom said the first time she met Dylan at the fire department she knew he loved Sierra. They weren’t dating at the time. Eventually they ended up on their first date which was lunch at Jersey Mikes. Sierra had a hard day and Sierra’s nickname was shadow, Dylan said “I am going to take you on a shadow date.” She said from there the love grew.

Their proposal was on November 16, 2019. Sierra said Dylan planned the whole thing. They went to the Blue Ridge Parkway and drove around for a little while. The last overlook they stopped at was the Yadkin Valley Overlook. He waited for the other tourists to leave and set up the phone for a picture together. After the picture, he got down on his knee and asked her to marry him. If you want to see more of Sierra and Dylan click here for their engagement session.

Sierra and Dylan’s wedding day started out with everyone getting ready at Long Acres Barn. Sierra was hanging out with her ladies and finishing getting her hair and makeup done. Dylan was relaxing and playing pool with the guys. Both Sierra and Dylan were so calm and ready to get married.

After they both were ready we headed outside to do their first look. This moment is one of my favorites on wedding days. They were so full of joy when they got to see each other. Sierra and Dylan had so much time with each other on their wedding day because they decided on a first look. We got to take pictures in front of the gorgeous barn and in the grove of trees covered with fallen leaves.

Their ceremony was set outside under a big arbor. The sun was behind them overlooking a huge field. It was a gorgeous spot to say I do.

After the ceremony we took family photos and a few more bride and groom photos. Sierra and Dylan are so much fun together. They are constantly smiling and laughing together. One of my favorite prompts for they was to have Dylan pick Sierra up. He could do it so easily!

Their reception was spent surrounded by some of their closest friends and family. They got to say goodbye to everyone with a sparkler exit. Sierra was wearing a gorgeous fur shawl that her Aunt wore at her wedding.

Sierra and Dylan’s wedding day could not have been better. The weather was perfect, sunny and just warm enough to be comfortable. Leaves were falling from the trees and there was love everywhere.

Sierra and Dylan thank you so much for trusting me to capture your memories. I feel so lucky to have met you both. It was an honor to photograph your big day. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them.
