Lauren, Jamie, their dog Bandit, my boyfriend Brian and I went hiking earlier this month at Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, NC. If you are considering whether or not it’s worth it to hike for your session, just look at these incredible pictures! We had the best time on the way up and even better time on our way down during the dusky evening light.
Lauren and Jamie met on Bumble and Lauren said she almost didn’t go on the date because, you know, online dating can be hard! Thank goodness she ended up going to dinner! That was almost a year ago and look at them now. My bad joke is that they “swiped all the way to the ring.”
The weather was perfect for their session and the fall colors were phenomenal. We even got to the top in time to see a small helicopter fly by and wave at us. The third time was the charm for this engagement session since we had to reschedule twice due to illness and bad weather.
Thank you so much Lauren and Jamie for trusting me to capture your memories. Also thank you to Lauren’s friend Jamie Lynn of Jamie Lynn Photography who recommended me! I cannot wait until next May when I get to see these two become husband and wife at St. Leo’s and Forsyth Country Club.

Sierra and Dylan met me on Halloween at Zane’s Clodbuster Farm in Kernersville, NC. They are getting married this Saturday and I cannot wait to see them tie the knot! They were so much fun to get to know and they are so perfect for each other.
Sierra and Dylan met back in 2017 at while they were both training at their local volunteer fire department. Sierra was (and still is) a volunteer EMT there and Dylan was a part time firefighter then. Sierra said they didn’t talk for almost a year but they both remembered each other. I will fill you with the rest of their story on their wedding blog.
Halloween was the perfect fall day for their engagement session. We were blessed with beautiful weather, fall leaves and a horse to pet. The tractor rides that ride around Zane’s in the fall were full of people and they even cheered them on when Dylan picked up Sierra, kissed her and spun her around! Dylan gave them a thumbs up while doing it.
Thank you Sierra and Dylan for trusting me to capture your memories. I will see you Saturday!

Kelly and Alex’s Winston Salem engagement last week was amazing! I know Kelly & Alex from two other weddings I photographed. I have fun every time I see them but their engagement session was the best! I even got to see one of my former brides Erin. Erin came along to help with Kelly and Alex’s adorable dog Fluffy. You can see Erin’s beautiful Biltmore wedding here and Kelly & Alex are on this blog too!
Kelly and Alex first met while working together. After about a year they started dating and they have been together almost 9 years now. Their love is so strong after growing together all of these years. They have the best connection and I can’t wait to see them get married.
The beginning of their session was at Salem Lake and the light was perfect on the dock. Kelly brought the most adorable props including two handmade bandanas for Fluffy and a jean jacket for her that said “Mrs. Lawson Est. 2021” on the back. After Salem Lake we headed to Quarry Park in Winston. These two had me laughing the whole time. They are so cute together.
Kelly and Alex thank you so much for choosing me! See you both next May at The Bella Collina Mansion!

Caitlyn’s and Drew’s engagement was a really hard one to plan but my gosh was it worth the wait! They initially wanted their engagement session in May at Duke Gardens but the stay at home order was in place. We tried to wait until June and then July but Duke Gardens has been closed since March and is still closed.
So we rescheduled for the WRAL Azalea Gardens in Raleigh, the American Tobacco Campus and Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham. It rained or had a high risk of rain for three of our rescheduling attempts! I was even halfway to Raleigh when a freak summer thunderstorm occurred. Finally we met two weeks ago on a sunny and gorgeous day and everything turned out perfectly.
Caitlyn and Drew first met online and had their first date at Town Hall Burger and Beer in Durham. They ended up realizing that they had several mutual friends in common but had never crossed paths! They have been together almost two years now.
I had the best time getting to know these two. This was my first time at all of these session locations and we had a great time laughing and exploring together. My favorite part was taking pictures of them at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. They had season passes last year but due to COVID they haven’t been able to go at all this year. We got to look out over the empty ball field where they have so many memories together!
Thank you Caitlyn and Drew for choosing me to capture your memories. See you next April at the Barn of Chapel Hill for your best day ever!

Jessica and Dylan met me last month in downtown Winston Salem for their engagement session. I had so much fun getting to know them and exploring the city. We were blessed with good weather that wasn’t too hot for July in NC!
Jessica and Dylan live in Greensboro but have history in Winston together. They wanted to have their engagement session in an area that was special for them. They met through a mutual friend and the first time they hung out together was at a Gin Blossoms concert in Winston at Ziggy’s!
We started their session downtown near The Millennium Center. We walked down to the Artivity area and found lots of gorgeous spots and a beautiful mural! After that we drove to the Bailey Park area and wandered around. At the very end of the session there was gorgeous golden sun shining through. I really love how everything turned out. Plus, I got to photograph one of the most beautiful engagement rings ever! Just wait until you see it.
Jessica and Dylan, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your memories. I can’t wait until October to see you to become husband and wife!
