Hannah and Dustin were married last weekend at Oakhaven Properties in Pelham, NC. Their day could not have gone more perfectly. I am so excited to share their story and their pictures on the blog today.
Get ready for a lot of Hannah’s in their ‘how we met’ story. Bride Hannah’s best friend also named Hannah lived in Elkin while bride Hannah was in college. Bride Hannah would travel to Elkin to see her friend Hannah. Hannah’s best friend Hannah introduced the bride Hannah to another friend who is ALSO named Hannah. The third Hannah is now bride Hannah’s sister-in-law and she is the one who introduced Hannah & Dustin while she was on vacation with Dustin’s family in Pigeon Forge back in 2017. A month later bride Hannah, Dustin, Dustin’s brother and now wife Hannah went on a double date.
On that first date they went to Outback where Hannah still remembers Dustin’s brother telling him to “chew with his mouth closed.” After dinner they went to play mini-golf and Dustin says he “let her win.” Later they went to get ice cream and then headed home. Dustin left Hannah a voicemail that night checking to make sure she got home safe and he told her how much he enjoyed their date. She said she still has that voicemail saved.
I love how Hannah explains their proposal so here are her words: “I always dreamed of going to Southport after watching the movie Safe Haven. Dustin knew I wanted to visit there so after my college graduation we decided to celebrate with a beach trip. Dustin planned to have my best friend and her husband meet us in Southport for a day trip. We all spent the day together then at sunset Dustin planned for us to all go to the marsh walk. He waited for the crowd to clear out, passed my best friend his phone, and got down on one knee. Hannah and her husband captured the whole thing.” If you want to see more of Hannah and Dustin click here for their Pilot Mountain engagement session or here for Hannah’s Oakhaven bridal session.
Hannah and Dustin balance each other perfectly. On their wedding day it was a joy to capture their love. They are so natural together. They spent the day enjoying each other and soaking up all the little moments.
Courtney, Taylor and I began the day hanging out with Hannah and her ladies at the Manor on Oakhaven Properties. It is a gorgeous home that was built in the 1930’s. I am absolutely obsessed with this building and the detail and beauty of the architecture. Hannah and Dustin’s details were stunning and sentimental. From Hannah’s beautiful earrings, shoes and bouquet to Dustin’s tractor cufflinks and tie clip that were his Great-Grandfather’s.
Hannah and Dustin had the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer who made the day so much fun. They were so excited to be a part of the wedding day and I got some of the cutest photographs of them starting with the getting ready portion. Before their first look Hannah & Dustin exchanged letters and gifts. They both bought each other personalized bibles without knowing it!
After everyone was ready Hannah and Dustin met at the side of the Manor for their first look. I love how happy they were to see each other. Their wedding day ran perfectly on time and even ahead of schedule for some of the day! We had extra time for portraits of the two of them. We took full advantage of this and got them so many gorgeous pictures.
Their ceremony was set under the huge oak tree at Oakhaven in the shade. As Hannah walked toward Dustin, hand in hand with her Mom, there were smiles all around. Hannah and Dustin are full of faith and were so ready for this commitment in their lives!
After the ceremony we went down to the dock near sunset. The golden glow was incredible. During Hannah’s bridal session the dock had just been painted so we couldn’t use it. It is the most beautiful spot and the sun sets right behind the dock. It is literally a dream location.
Their reception was filled with the most gorgeous flower centerpieces. At night the head table and fireplace were full of sparkling candles and greenery. It was a magical setting. During Hannah and Dustin’s first dance the flower girl and ring bearer danced along with them! It was so adorable. Hannah and Dustin celebrated the night with some of the most important people in their lives. At the end of the night they said goodbye to everyone with a glowstick exit.
Their day could not have been more perfect. It was the first day in North Carolina that felt like fall this year. I don’t ever remember it being this cool and dry in September before. It made for a comfortable and slightly breezy day and a chilly night!
Hannah and Dustin I hope you are had the most wonderful honeymoon in Charleston. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your memories. I wish you all the joy and happiness! Enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
