Lacey & Zach are Married!

I am so excited to share this wedding with you all! Lacey and Zach were married last Saturday at the Rigmor House in Chapel Hill, NC. It was an amazing day.

Lacey and Zach first met in person at a party. Their first date was the day after. They ate pulled pork nachos at Boardwalk Billy’s in Charlotte, NC. Nachos are also the first thing they ate after becoming husband and wife! Part of their snack for cocktail hour was a nacho bar.

Lacey and Zach have been together almost 5 years. I love their proposal story. Zach proposed at the Diamond Restaurant in Charlotte, NC. Lacey said “He is a cheesy jokester, so it was absolutely perfect. He gave me a Diamond, at the Diamond Restaurant.”

The engagement ring Zach proposed with is a family heirloom. It was his Great Grandmother’s ring. His Grandfather who passed away at the end of last year gave it to him to give to Lacey.

Lacey and Zach love each other effortlessly. They have the same exact temperament. They are down to earth, easy going and love to have fun. On their wedding day they smiled and laughed the whole time and were so happy to be marrying each other! Kristin and I started the day at the Rigmor House with Lacey and her bridesmaids. They were relaxing and getting their hair and makeup done. I headed downstairs to photograph some special details like the pearl necklace that Zach gifted to Lacey!

After photographing all of the lovely details I headed upstairs with Lacey and she got into her dress. She looked like a classic Hollywood movie star. Everything was perfect! Kristin hung out with Zach and his groomsmen while they finished getting ready.

Lacey and Zach had details from different TV shows they love included in their wedding day. They both wore lobsters, Lacey had small lobster earrings and Zach had lobsters on his socks. This is from the Friends episode where Pheobe tells Ross and Rachel that they are each others lobsters!

Zach also put Lacey’s letter in a teapot. This is from The Office episode where Jim picks Pam to give a Secret Santa gift to. He gives her a teapot with lots of inside jokes/gifts inside. I love how much thought Lacey and Zach put into all of their gifts and details. They are so perfect together!

After getting ready it was time for their first look. The rain had been pouring on and off all morning. As we headed outside on the deck for their first look it was still raining.

Once Lacey and Zach saw each other, the weather started clearing up. It didn’t storm for the rest of the day. It was really a miracle!

Lacey’s cousin officiated the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony that had everyone laughing and crying. Lacey and Zach chose to take part in a unity tree ritual where soil from each of their houses was taken and combined at the base of the tree in order to plant it at their home together.

Once they were married Kristin and I took them around the property to get the just married pictures! Lacey and Zach didn’t mind walking in the soggy grass to get these and it was so worth it. I’m so lucky to work with couples that go with the flow.

Lacey and Zach’s reception was so much fun! Their family and friends danced, sang and partied the night away. Lacey, Zach and their bridal party even got to sleep at the Rigmor House for the whole weekend! Lacey and Zach said goodbye to us in front of the house with their guests holding sparklers overhead.
