Lauren & Jonathan are Married!

Lauren and Jonathan were married last Saturday at the Roost at Butler Farm in Staley, NC. They have quite the wedding story to tell. I will attempt to do it justice.

Lauren and Jonathan met on the dance floor at Arizona Pete’s in 2009. Lauren asked Jonathan for his number and they became friends. They were friends for 2 years before they started dating!

Their first date as more than friends happened in 2011. They had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and then they went to the Halloween party at Arizona Pete’s. I love that they had their first date where they first met!

In July of last year Lauren and Jonathan took a trip to the beach with their friends. Jonathan decided that it would be the perfect time and place to propose. Their last night at the beach they went out to dinner with everyone.

Lauren said: “When we returned to the condo everyone decided to grab flashlights and go for a walk on the beach. They started shining their lights on something written in the sand. I knew it wasn’t for me but then Jonathan got down on one knee. He is a jokester so I thought he was kidding until he pulled out a ring box. I was so excited that I screamed YES and put the ring on my finger!”

Lauren and Jonathan’s wedding was originally planned for September 15th of this year. They rescheduled their reception because of a hurricane. Instead they got married in an intimate church ceremony and went on their honeymoon to Jamaica.

Fast forward to the beginning of last week and a huge winter storm was threatening to hit on their wedding day. Luckily it waited until Saturday night to start. I am telling you mother nature was excited for Lauren and Jonathan to get married! What a great wedding story they have.

Lauren and Jonathan are a joy filled couple. When you meet them you can see that God created them for each other. They are a perfect match and on their wedding day they shared lots of laughs, smiles, hugs and kisses! The day began in the bridal suite at the Roost at Butler Farm. Lauren and her bridesmaids were drinking mimosas and wearing the cutest matching coral robes. Everyone was so excited to be a part of this big day.

My second shooter headed over to the tobacco barn on the property where Jonathan and his groomsmen and Lauren’s man of honor were getting ready. I always love seeing pictures of the guys getting ready because I am never there for this! It looked like they having a good time drinking beer and laughing!

When it came time for Lauren to put her dress on her Mom was there to help her. Lauren made sure to include lots of details from her Mimi who passed away this year. The jade and rose gold earrings she wore were brought back from the Korean War. Her Papaw bought them for her Mimi before they got married. Lauren says “they are the most beautiful earrings I’ve ever seen.”

Lauren’s bouquet had special items tied onto it. Her something blue was a handkerchief her Mimi was given for being the youngest mother in Sunday school. There was also a pendant that had a hand written message inscribed on it. Her Mimi had written it in a card to her. It said “Remember how special you are to me! Love, Mimi” Another pendant on the bouquet had her Mimi’s photo on it.

After getting ready Lauren and Jonathan read letters they had written to each other and exchanged gifts. Lauren got Jonathan a nice watch. Jonathan got Lauren a Christmas ornament that said just married and a pandora charm!

Lauren had a first look with all of her bridesmaids. When she came out of the door she looked like she was straight out of a fairytale! All of the ladies were smiling and Lauren started to spin around and laugh in a way only Lauren can.

It was then time for Lauren and Jonathan’s first look. The smiles of joy on their faces were priceless. Lauren and Jonathan both had glistening eyes and the love was palpable. These two really know how to love each other.

Lauren and Jonathan’s friend brought an antique Ford truck that has been in his family for generations. We got lots of pictures with it! Some of my favorites are through the back window with them kissing. This was another unique touch for an amazing wedding day.

The weather was in the low 40’s all day with hazy skies. Their bridal party was cold but they stuck it out for Lauren and Jonathan and the pictures were amazing because of it! We were blessed with no precipitation.

The ceremony was inside under white lights and in front of a big fireplace decorated with greenery and a photograph of Lauren and Jonathan from their engagement. A chair with a picture of Lauren’s Mimi sat in the front row and a rose was placed upon it in remembrance of her. Lauren and Jonathan lit a unity candle and said their vows.

Their officiant challenged them to a life of loving the other one more. So that they would always be in a healthy competition of love. This was one of my favorite things I have heard said to a couple at a wedding!

Their ceremony was filled with family and friends who support and love Lauren and Jonathan. They danced and celebrated this union. At the end of the night Lauren and Jonathan said goodbye under the light of sparklers. This is one of my all time favorite sparker pictures! Just wait until you see their smiles.

Lauren also wanted to do night pictures that I love so much. We did one outside and one inside the venue! I’m so glad we did this because they turned out beautifully.

Lauren and Jonathan I cannot thank you enough for choosing me. I am so blessed to know you both and to have documented this day. I wish you a lifetime of love and joy. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
