Caitlyn’s and Drew’s engagement was a really hard one to plan but my gosh was it worth the wait! They initially wanted their engagement session in May at Duke Gardens but the stay at home order was in place. We tried to wait until June and then July but Duke Gardens has been closed since March and is still closed.
So we rescheduled for the WRAL Azalea Gardens in Raleigh, the American Tobacco Campus and Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham. It rained or had a high risk of rain for three of our rescheduling attempts! I was even halfway to Raleigh when a freak summer thunderstorm occurred. Finally we met two weeks ago on a sunny and gorgeous day and everything turned out perfectly.
Caitlyn and Drew first met online and had their first date at Town Hall Burger and Beer in Durham. They ended up realizing that they had several mutual friends in common but had never crossed paths! They have been together almost two years now.
I had the best time getting to know these two. This was my first time at all of these session locations and we had a great time laughing and exploring together. My favorite part was taking pictures of them at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. They had season passes last year but due to COVID they haven’t been able to go at all this year. We got to look out over the empty ball field where they have so many memories together!
Thank you Caitlyn and Drew for choosing me to capture your memories. See you next April at the Barn of Chapel Hill for your best day ever!
