Chelsea & Shane were married, again, last weekend at The Barn at Cranberry Creek in Booneville, NC. They were officially married on April 11th in a backyard ceremony at Chelsea’s childhood home. In early March COVID got in the way of their original wedding plans. However, everything ended up perfectly for them and this day was amazing.
Chelsea and Shane first met in college in December of 2010. They were friends for years before they became a couple. Shane’s best friend Giaky, also their wedding official, lived beside Chelsea in college. Chelsea said they we were all just a group of friends who always hung out. Then one night in January of 2015 they ended up outside up dancing to Ed Sheeran together and sharing their first kiss.
Chelsea said during their first official date she showed up at Shane’s house wearing a green shirt. When he came to the door he was also wearing the same shade of green shirt. He immediately went back and changed. Shane said they weren’t going to be “those people that matched.” They ate ate dinner walked around Plaza Midwood in Charlotte.
Chelsea & Shane have a two and half year old daughter named Evelyn. They all moved to Pittsburgh, PA for a few years while Shane was in MBA school at Carnegie Melon. On December 9th, a chilly Sunday in Pittsburgh, Shane brought Chelsea and Evelyn to Phipps Conservatory to see the lights. Chelsea said “we enjoyed our hot chocolates as we walked around taking in all the displays. As we walked out of the conservatory the lines had disappeared and it was just us. I turned to ask him what was taking so long and he was down on one knee in front of this beautifully lit tree. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I literally had to ask if he was serious and of course said YES!”
Chelsea & Shane are a wonderful couple. You can really see the love they have cultivated and nurtured for each other over the years. The best part of their love is seeing them as a family together. Evelyn was the cutest flower girl and I could create a wedding blog with just pictures of her enjoying the day! This is one sweet and beautiful family!
Their ceremony day began at The Barn at Cranberry Creek in the bridal suite. Chelsea and her ladies were drinking champagne, listening to music and getting ready. Everyone was so excited to see this day come to fruition. I love the pictures after Evelyn arrived of her and Chelsea cuddling on the couch together!
After Chelsea got in her wedding dress she did a first look with her Dad outside and Evelyn was there to watch it all! Then the bridesmaids and groomsmen came out separately for their bridal party pictures and it was time for the ceremony.
The Barn at Cranberry Creek has such a gorgeous outdoor space for ceremonies and everything was so beautiful. Evelyn walked down with a basket that said “Here Come’s Mommy.” Chelsea and Shane had handwritten vows. There was so much joy and happiness in the air!
After the ceremony we got some amazing bridal party photos. This group was so much fun to hang out with! They made my job easy! Once Chelsea and Shane’s bride and groom photos were finished they headed to their reception where they danced to Ed Sheeran for their first dance.
The whole day went seamlessly and we were blessed with gorgeous weather. The entire week before the wedding thunderstorms were predicted for their day. The day came and only brought one light sprinkle. A huge storm cell passed right by but didn’t rain on us at all!
Some of Chelsea & Shane’s closest family and friends gathered to celebrate their love. The reception was so much fun! We said goodbye to them with a glow stick exit as Shane picked Chelsea up and carried her through the crowd!
Thank you Chelsea & Shane for choosing me to capture your memories. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
