Erin and Jonah were married last Saturday at The Barn at Blueberry Hill in Elkin, NC. This day was absolutely magical. I loved seeing their love celebrated.
Erin and Jonah’s story starts a long time ago. They met on the bus in first grade and sat next to each other! That was 18 years ago. They became close friends in high school and started dating their senior year.
Six years ago, on April Fools Day, they had their first official date at a park in their hometown. Erin asked Jonah out over text. Before that they went on several “unofficial” dates to coffeeshops and even to see a romcom. Erin said both of them were too nervous to call them actual dates.
Eventually they decided to make it official. After dating for years Jonah was ready to pop the question! Erin and Jonah headed on a trip to Charleston with their friends. They went to walk by the park with the big pineapple fountain. Erin said “our friends went to ‘use the restroom’ while we waited on a bench but they were really sneaking back around to take photos. It was goofy and kind of fun to share that moment with some of the people closest to us.”
Erin and Jonah have an undeniable bond. On their wedding day they were filled with joy and love for each other. To see more of them click here for their Pilot Mountain engagement session.
We began the day with the girls while they were getting ready in the barn. Erin and Jonah both have so many people that love them. This was such an amazing bridal party. Everyone was easygoing and fun!
After Jonah and his groomsmen arrived Kristin went downstairs to hang out with them. They were finishing getting ready and putting their details and boutonnieres on. This wedding included my favorite wedding colors of burgundy and blue!
Erin and Jonah were both dressed and ready for their first look. They stood outside under the shade of a huge tree and saw each other for the first time on their wedding day. They both smiled and were filled with excitement.
Their ceremony was outside in the beautiful setting that the Barn at Blueberry Hill has for their weddings. Erin & Jonah’s said their “I do’s” in front of a wooden cross and under an arbor covered with ivy. My favorite part of their ceremony is that they were married by Erin’s Grandfather.
Erin & Jonah’s reception space was decorated with so many unique details. They love books and the tables were labeled with author’s names. At each table was a stack of books by the author and a quote. I’ve never seen this before and I loved it so much!
During their reception we snuck out for a few sunset photos in the road. The weather was perfect all day long and a few clouds rolled in to make an amazing sunset for these two. I love sunset photos because they give time for the bride and groom to get away and really soak the whole day in!
Erin and Jonah said their goodbyes to their loved ones with a sparkler exit. They dipped and kissed surrounded by family and friends. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
Erin and Jonah thank you so much for choosing me to capture your memories. I wish you both the most joyful life. I hope you are having the best honeymoon in Jamaica right now!
