Chelsea and EJ met me last week at Wake Forest University and Salem Lake in Winston Salem, NC for their engagement session. This was such an amazing session that I won’t soon forget! Both WFU and Salem Lake have significant meaning to Chelsea and EJ.
They met at Wake Forest while they were students. They were both on the rowing team and ended up being coaches. EJ even proposed on a rowing boat at Salem Lake last summer!Â
We started their session at Wake and found some amazing spots around campus. Construction workers were setting up for graduation and the chapel was busy but the rest of the campus was pretty clear! Chelsea loves the magnolia trees and wanted to include them in her pictures. She told me how the trees were transferred as saplings from the original campus in Wake Forest to the Winston Salem campus when the university moved in the 50’s.Â
Before we headed to Salem Lake we stopped by the houses where the rowing teams lived. We took a few pictures in front of the house where Chelsea and EJ fell in love! It was awesome to be able to include this part of their story in their engagement pictures.
When we arrived at Salem Lake we took pictures near the rowing boat that they got engaged in! We also got a few pictures on the dock before the gate closed. We ended the session near the lake surrounded by ducks with a beautiful sunset.Â
I cannot wait to see these two get married at Wait Chapel and WinMock in December. Thank you Chelsea and EJ for trusting me to capture your memories. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.Â
