Stephanie and John were married last Friday at Summerfield Farms in Summerfield, North Carolina. It was a magical day of love and celebration.
Stephanie and John first met in New Jersey where they are both from. For their first date they went to the movies and saw Maleficent. Their journey over the last 5 years has been an amazing one. One of the sweetest parts of their story is that they were engaged at Stephanie’s favorite place, Disney World. John got down on one knee and asked Stephanie to be his wife in front of Cinderella’s castle.
They live together in North Carolina with their dogs Bella and Reese. I got to meet these two pups and got to know Stephanie and John better during their Pilot Mountain engagement session. You can click here to see those pictures.
Stephanie and John are loving, supportive and kind to each other. On their wedding day they were both excited and ready to be married. The way they look at each other you can tell they both love with their whole hearts!
Kristin and I started the day with the girls at the cottage at Summerfield Farms. The flower girls were running around laughing and playing, 90’s music was playing and Stephanie was finishing getting get her makeup done. She was smiling and giggling the whole time. She was the calmest bride!
When it was time for Stephanie to get into her dress Kristin headed to the retreat to hang out with John and his groomsmen. They were drinking beer and enjoying the cool April weather outside. It was raining and off for most of the morning but the guys had a covered area to relax in.
Stephanie wanted to make the wedding day special for each of the most important men in her life. She had first looks with her Dad, her brother (who was also the officiant) and John. Each of these moments were memorable in their own unique way.
Stephanie and John exchanged gifts during their first look. John gave Stephanie a wooden canvas with a picture of them and their dogs that was taken during their engagement session. Stephanie said it was her favorite picture of Bella and Reese. Stephanie gave John a gold pocket watch with a buck on the front and “I will love you to infinity and beyond 04.26.19” engraved on the back.
After their first look, the rain died down a little and we snuck in some quick bride and groom pictures and bridesmaids pictures before the ceremony. We then headed down to the pole barn where the ceremony was being held. I loved the decorations that Stephanie and John picked. My favorite was the white wooden letters that spelled LOVE.
Their ceremony was short and sweet and made people laugh and cry. It was perfect for these two and for all of those who came to celebrate with them. After being pronounced husband and wife they took a few more pictures and came back in for the party!
The reception was filled with beautiful accents, gold sparkles, a gorgeous cake from Maxie B’s, a fire pit with smores, a lighted path with lanterns and more. The best part was the surprise groom’s cake with camo that said “the hunt is over.” John had the sweetest reaction this surprise and hugged Stephanie tight.
Stephanie, John, Kristin and I snuck out of the reception for some sunset pictures by the lake and I am so glad that we did. They are truly magical. I thought this would be extra special since Stephanie and John were originally going to get married by the lake and had to move their ceremony inside due to weather. These are some of my favorite pictures from their day!
Stephanie and John ended the night surrounded by some of their closest friends and family. They had a wonderful wedding and I was lucky to be a part of it.
