Jenna and Joey were married last Saturday at The Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure, NC. The stars aligned to make their wedding day perfect in every way. Not to mention it seriously looked like we were in Hawaii instead of the near the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Jenna and Joey met while attending the Physician Assistant program at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Their first date was in September of 2016 at Krankie’s coffee shop in Winston Salem, NC. They ended up staying and talking for 4 hours!

They have been together for 2 years total. They are both vibrant people who love being active and being outdoors. The proposal happened while hiking among the wild ponies in Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia. Jenna and Joey’s wedding day began at the resort in the bridal suite. We met Jenna, her Mom and her bridesmaids while they were getting their hair and makeup done. They had music playing, coffee and mimosas! Such a perfect start to an amazing day.

One of the first things Jenna mentioned was her gift from Joey. Before we arrived that morning she opened one of the most thoughtful gifts. Joey had one of their black and white engagement pictures printed on a canvas with the words to their wedding song written across it. The song is “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur and the picture of it is on the blog below!

While the girls were finishing getting ready Kristin and I headed to a gorgeous VBRO that Joey’s family had rented on the resort. He and his groomsmen and family, along with Jenna’s Dad were all hanging out and having the best time! Joey was beaming from ear to ear and so excited to be marrying Jenna.

I left to go back with the ladies and Kristin stayed at the house. While she was there Joey opened his gift from Jenna. They were personalized cufflinks that said “until were grey and old” on one and “Love, Jenna” on the other. The first cufflink is also a lyric from their James Arthur wedding song! These two are seriously on the same page.

The Rumbling Bald Resort is one of the most stunning venues I have seen. This is truly a gem of a place! We were blessed with a sunny day with some scattered clouds and the most gorgeous warm, autumn weather. Their ceremony site overlooked the beach on Lake Lure and the mountains.

Jenna and Joey were married under an arbor with the water glistening behind them. There were tears in their eyes and laughter in their hearts. Eye crinkles with happy tears fill me with joy! These two are truly meant for each other.

They included a sand ceremony which was perfect for the beach they were near. They mixed two different colors of sand together to represent their union as one. Their separate sands were in glass vases that had their names on them. The heart glass that contained the sand they mixed together had ‘Baker’, their family name, and their wedding date etched on it.

Some of my favorite pictures of the day were of Jenna and Joey walking back down the aisle together as husband and wife! They are so full of joy and excitement. It was a pleasure to photograph this wedding.

After the ceremony we got to take some of the most stunning golden hour pictures. These two could definitely make some money as models! Every picture was magazine cover worthy. They are an amazing team.

During the reception Jenna and Joey were surrounded by their closest friends and family. The evening flowed beautifully with speeches, dinner, cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss, first dances and lots of fun and music! We also snuck out for a few bride and groom pictures after sunset. There was a small fire set up outside and I love the picture of them kissing behind it!

There were so many beautiful details throughout this day. One of my favorites was a window decorated with black and white wedding pictures from their families. Also, Jenna’s handbag was made out of her mother’s wedding dress!

We ended the evening taking pictures of Jenna and Joey along the walkway. They held sparklers and kissed and laughed. The light of the moon was shining along the water and there was a clear sky filled with stars.

Jenna and Joey thank you so much for choosing me to capture your memories. I hope you are relaxing on the beaches of St. Lucia having the time of your lives. Don’t miss the cats too much! My wish is for a healthy and prosperous life for you both and that you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
