Meagan and Mike met me last weekend at Craggy Gardens on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, NC. I had the best time exploring Craggy and getting to know these two. They are amazing people. Both of them are joyful, easygoing, funny and they balance each other gracefully.
Meagan and Mike met in the most epic way! They both joined a Nerf Gun Club called Battle for Bast. She said it was basically “several giant games of laser tag but with Nerf guns in a three-story gymnasium for 2 hours every Saturday night of college.”
They picked Craggy Gardens because their first date was a drive on the parkway and they love to hike. Mike also wanted to propose at Craggy Gardens but the parkway was closed in that direction the day he planned on. I’ll save the rest of that story for their wedding blog!
The weather forecast for their engagement session was calling for no rain but heavy cloud cover. Due to the elevation and the potential for fog banks we had some back up plans too. However, we needed no back up plan.
Everything worked out beautifully. The sky was putting on a show for us. The fog would roll in and out, minute by minute, then the clouds would shift and sunlight would stream down. We saw about every color of the rainbow in the sky. All of us just kept saying how lucky we were to have been there to see the beauty!
My favorite part of the day was hearing the history of Meagan’s engagement ring. I said it looked antique and they said it certainly was. The ring has been in Mike’s family for at least 100 years. It actually traveled with his family from Ireland when immigrated in the early 1900’s. There is more to the story that I will save until next year!
Thank you Meagan and Mike for choosing me to capture your memories. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them! I cannot wait until your wedding next October at the Crest Center & Pavilion!
