Samantha and Grant were married last Saturday at Millikan Farms in Sophia, NC. This was my first time shooting here and it was such a memorable day! Since I got to know them at their engagement session, I have been looking forward to this day.

Samantha and Grant are seriously adorable together. They have the sweetest, most gentle way of loving each other and it makes it so easy to photograph. These two have been together for years and you can tell that they have a friendship at the foundation of their relationship.

We started the day off in the bridal suite with the all the girls as they listened to music and got their hair and make-up done. Aubrey the flower girl was hamming it up the whole day, she even got heels on and was putting on lipstick on in the mirror! All of these women love Samantha so much and she was surrounded by their love and support.

The guys were hanging out just a few rooms down. They were watching tv, drinking beer and playing corn hole! Grant was laughing most of the day because his groomsmen were full of positivity. Everyone was eager for Samantha and Grant to become husband and wife.

It was SO WINDY at the beginning of the day. When Kristin and I were taking detail pictures the details kept blowing away! I was nervous about all the girls hair and dresses for outdoor pictures. Luckily the wind died down and didn’t get worse like the forecast said! The weather was absolutely perfect after that.

Samantha and Grant had one of the most emotional first looks I have ever photographed. They chose to read letters that the other had written right before the first look. Cue the waterworks! I had to hold back tears for most of this day.

Their ceremony was planned for after sunset so we finished all of their photos before the ceremony. Then we got to watch an amazing sunset over Millikan Farms. The sky looked like it was on fire. After their first kiss the sky looked like it was on fire again. They were surprised with fireworks! It was such an amazing moment and really added to the excitement of the day.

The reception space was set up perfectly. All of the planning, details and florals came together to form a beautiful celebration space. Samantha and Grant made amazing choices for their colors and details. Plus, all of the vendors worked so hard to bring this together and it really shows!

Samantha and Grant, you two are so deserving of this amazing day. I feel blessed to have been picked as your photographer and am already looking forward seeing you both again! Thank you for trusting me to capture your memories, I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
