Last weekend L.A. & Crystal were married at the Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, NC. To say this wedding was magical is putting it lightly! Crystal loves all things Disney and L.A. loves his southern roots. Together they created “Rustic Disney.” Every detail was attended to and it came together beautifully. The showers that were held for Crystal were DisneyBound including a Mad Hatter theme. The wedding invitations had gold glitter on the inside that Crystal referred to as ‘pixie dust.’ Each invitation had a princess theme with ‘happily ever after’ & ‘once upon a time’ written on them. Guests were allowed to wear a Disney bound theme to the wedding and Crystal even helped some of them plan their outfits. L.A. got to wear his new snakeskin boots and his belt buckle which tied together his part of the rustic theme!
A part of the wedding that was extremely special was the way that L.A.’s sister Marci was included in the wedding. From the bride: “L.A’s sister passed away in April. She had wrote us a letter stating she new she would not make it and to have a blast her and to wear pink. The groomsmen will have boutonnieres that are kept in place by a pink pin. Marci also loved loved sunflowers.” Crystal surprised L.A. with a sunflower boutonniere that was placed on him before by Crystal’s Mom Melba. Sunflowers were included in most of the rustic bouquets at the table and even in the bridal bouquet!
Every person got a fast pass as they arrived to the ceremony which told them the themed table they were sitting at. When you walked into the ceremony and reception area it was like walking into a magical castle. There were shining white lights everywhere. They were strung from the ceiling, lining the aisles, at the middle of each centerpiece, candles along the fireplace and huge glittering chandeliers to top it off. Each table had its own centerpiece with rustic fall bouquets and disney theme gold characters in the middle. There were also special details like a gold carriage at the Cinderella table, an apple at the Snow White table, Popcorn at the Dumbo table, a Halloween theme at the Haunted Mansion table and a rose in a glass case at the Belle table.
As the clock struck 12, the exact time Crystal wanted to be married, the music started and was timed perfectly throughout the rest of the ceremony and reception. I felt like I was at Walt Disney World for a few hours! The flowers girls dressed up as Cinderella and Tinkerbell, the ring bearers were Captain Hook and Peter Pan, the bridesmaids were dressed as Ariel, Belle and Snow White and even their Pastor got in on the fun! Wait until you see his picture! The ceremony was so heartfelt and everyone was in tears. The first dance followed the rustic theme with a country song “I Met a Girl” by William Michael Morgan. I took about a hundred pictures during that dance because their love was shining!
The cake table had a Mad Hatter theme along with a Hidden Mickey on the cake! They also had a photo booth with Disney themed props and the hashtag #onceuponastutts. The bride created a photo challenge for each guest to complete. Instead of the classic bouquet toss, each single lady choose a key and only one would open Belle’s Rose. The winner got to keep the gorgeous glass case with the rose inside! Every single thing worked out perfectly and the love between L.A. & Crystal was palpable. Congrats to you both and I hope you are having an amazing time on your “Disneymoon.”
