Heather and Bryce were married last weekend at Luna’s Trail Farm & Event Center in Westfield, NC. I have been looking forward to this wedding ever since I met Heather and Bryce. This was an amazing day that I won’t soon forget.
Heather and Bryce’s first date was on July 10th of 2015. They went to eat at the Europe Cafe in downtown Greensboro and talked for hours. When Heather got back home she told her Mom that Bryce was the man she was going to marry!
I love their proposal story. To celebrate their 2 year anniversary they took a trip to Gatlinburg, TN. They visited Ober Gatlinburg and rode a chairlift to the very top. Heather says “Bryce had planned to propose in this spot. However, since it was Labor Day weekend, it was super crowded and tons of people were around us. So Bryce made us stay up there for 2 hours, just staring at the mountain view. When it was time for us to leave Bryce looked at me and said ‘let’s go to one of the overlooks on the drive back to the cabin.’ We get to the overlook, get out and he then looks at me says ‘oh no, this isn’t the right one!’ He then makes me get back into the car and we drive to yet another overlook. So we get to the third overlook of the day I happen to turn around and he was down on one knee! Now, Bryce still being nervous and goofy says ‘I want you to be my wife!’ He never actually asked! It took a little bIt for me to come to the conclusion that this was Bryce’s way of proposing!”
Bryce and Heather have been together for 3 and half years. They are truly best friends. I was lucky enough to get to spend a lot of time with them as a couple on their wedding day and their love is incredible! If you want to see more of them click here for their Pilot Mountain engagement session.
We started the day in the hanging rock cabin where the girls were already finished with hair and makeup! Heather was relaxed, calm and ready to be married to Bryce! She was surrounded by so many women that love her.
After photographing details Courtney headed up to the green cabin to hang out with Bryce and his groomsmen. Heather and Bryce exchanged letters and gifts before their first look. I love that Bryce calls Heather sunshine! He even wrote it on the envelope to her letter.
Heather & Bryce had their first look outside of the Hanging Rock cabin. It was warm and lightly sprinkling outside. When they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day they were full of joy and smiles!
Their ceremony was originally planned for outside but they moved it inside due to a big rainstorm that came through. Luckily, the storms passed much quicker than expected and they were able to open up the doors during the ceremony. This made for such a beautiful ceremony and brought the outdoors in!
During the ceremony Heather and Bryce put letters inside of a box for them to open and read on their first anniversary. I haven’t seen this at a wedding before and it was such a special touch. I’m sure they will love reading them together.
After being pronounced husband and wife they took a few more photos and were ready to start their reception! There were so many special details that made this wedding day great. Heather tied a heart onto her bouquet that belonged to her paternal Grandmother. She wore an NC State garter because Bryce is a huge fan. My favorite detail at the reception was a sign that said “The Dishers” and was surrounded by white light bulbs. It made the perfect backdrop for their first dance!
During their reception we snuck out for some sunset pictures and I’m so glad that we did. These are some of my favorite pictures of the day. Heather and Bryce had so much fun during everything they did on their wedding day. It was a treat to see them enjoy the celebration!
Besides one large storm the weather was amazing for the day. The prediction was thunderstorms all day so we were really lucky. Everything worked out perfectly!
At the end of their reception Heather and Bryce had a final dance alone. It was such a sweet and intimate moment. After the dance they said goodbye to their guests with a sparkler exit.
Heather and Bryce thank you so much for choosing me. I feel truly honored to have been with you both on your wedding day. I wish you a lifetime of love, good health and happiness. I hope you are having the best honeymoon in St. Lucia!
