Maggie and Kenley were married on St. Patrick’s Day at Luna’s Trail Farm and Event Center in Westfield, NC. As soon as I met these two I was overjoyed that they had chosen me to photograph their day. I just knew it would be an amazing wedding!
Maggie and Kenley were set up by a mutual friend and co-worker who was a groomsmen in their wedding. The person who introduced them certainly knew what he was doing. These two were made for each other.
After five years of dating Kenley was ready to get down on one knee. The proposal story is so sweet. Kenley made a huge wooden sign with white lights that said marry me. He hung it in the barn and asked Maggie to be his wife under the sign! They had this sign displayed at their ceremony and reception and it was one of so many special details. The day Kenley asked Maggie to be his wife was also his Mom and Stepdad’s wedding anniversary.
Maggie and Kenley are a grounded and loving couple. They respect each other and show it in everything that they do. They laugh together often. Maggie radiates JOY! She has the sweetest, kindest spirit and she was beaming on her wedding day. Kenley is so fully in love with her and you can see it in every picture! We did their engagement session in the snow at Luna’s Trail, click this link to see how happy they were there too.
The day of the wedding we met Maggie and her girls at the house they were getting ready in. The bridal house at Luna’s Trail is amazing. It was perfect for the seven bridesmaids and all of other women that love Maggie and Kenley. There was so much excitement and two beautiful flower girls running around amidst it all. Everyone was filled with happiness for Maggie and Kenley’s big day.
Maggie warned me that she would be emotional all day long and I told her I would be crying with her too! I cried AT LEAST 10 times during this wedding. It was filled with so much emotion and all of the good and pure things that weddings truly represent. I couldn’t be happier for these two.
After we took photos of Maggie and her bridesmaids in their monogramed shirts it was time for Maggie to get in her dress. Maggie’s first look with her Dad was the sweetest. They both shed tears of joy and you can see that Maggie got her positive attributes from both of her parents.
Once the first look with her Dad was finished I met with Kenley and his groomsmen. Kenley was just finishing reading his letter and opening his gift. Kenley was pretty happy to be getting a power tool for his gift! Maggie definitely made the right choice. There was so much laughter and joy at the guys house as well. All of the guys were having fun and Kenley was ready to see his bride!
Right before the wedding Maggie and Kenley’s Mom both read letters that Kenley had written them. It just shows how thoughtful he is that he had typed both of them letters. He also made them both cry more happy tears. I’m telling you, I’m really glad that I had waterproof mascara on!
The ceremony was inside at Luna’s Trail in front of large windows overlooking the hillside. Maggie and Kenley were married under a beautiful wooden arbor and they took communion together with their Pastor. They prayed and vowed to be there for each other through any test of time.
My favorite part of the day were the sunset photos. We only had a few minutes for these and even though my legs were destroyed by brambles it was totally worth it. Maggie and Kenley enjoyed their first sunset together as husband and wife overlooking the mountains.
These two have so many people who love them. They were surrounded by this love on their wedding day. They had such a fun reception and it was hard to narrow down the pictures. There are just so many good ones. Young and old were dancing, women and men were rapping (Humpty Dance and Ice, Ice Baby to name a few) and everyone was celebrating!
Maggie and Kenley you two are so deserving of this special day. You are both amazing people and I am beyond happy for both of you. I can’t thank you enough for picking me! I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them and that you are relaxing in Jamaica on the beach with a drink in your hand!
