Jackie and Josh’s wedding at Centennial Station Arts Center in High Point was wintery perfection. The only thing missing was the snow. It may not look like it but it was definitely cold enough for snow. Frozen fingers were a small price to pay for their amazing pictures.
Jackie and Josh are used to having their sweetest moments in the cold. Their proposal happened at Ocean Isle Beach one dark and chilly evening. They said it was a beautiful night and they took a short walk on the beach where Josh proposed! Their engagement sessions (they had two- read about that here) were both cold and windy. Add in their marriage and their “mini-moon” in Asheville these two are pros at loving each other in cold weather.
I love the story of how they met. Without Josh’s best man Lee this wedding may have never happened! Lee is a mutual friend of both of theirs. Jackie says he “pretty much schemed to get us together. Josh and Lee had been best friends since high school. I met Lee and his wife Annie while we were all living in Chapel Hill several years ago. Lee and Annie moved back to Winston a few years ago, and when I moved here, we got back in touch. As soon as I reconnected with Lee at another friend’s birthday party, he said, “I have someone for you.” And that was it!”
Jackie and Josh are so in love and perfect for each other. I can see why Lee thought they would be so great together. Fast forward to today and they have been together almost two and a half years. Now they are husband and wife. Way to go Lee!
Jackie and Josh went the non-traditional route with a mixed gender bridal party. They had both women and men on the bride and groom sides. It shows you what great people they are that they wanted the people that mean the most to them on their side, regardless of their gender!
The day began at the Arts Center with the Jackie and her group getting ready and Josh with some of his bunch out to lunch. The bridal suite was one of the calmest I’ve ever walked into. Jackie is so kind and loving. She radiated peace all day.
When Josh and his crew headed back from lunch he was so excited to see his beautiful bride. He was literally beaming with pride. His face during the first look says it all.
The Centennial Station Arts Center has so much character. It is located in downtown High Point. It was originally a freight train depot in the 1930’s. Now there is a gorgeous teal colored train parked out front. This is where Jackie and Josh had their first look.
Jackie and Josh are so gentle with each other. They are the perfect embodiment of what loving someone fully looks like. You can see admiration and respect every time they look at each other. They are truly two puzzle pieces that were just waiting to fit together.
After all of the bride and groom and bridal party photos we did family formals before the ceremony. This helped so much because once the ceremony was over the sun had set and we headed out for just a few more pictures and a video with the videographer.
So many gorgeous details made this day come together. Even the colors they picked complimented the venue. Jackie and Josh thought of the perfect hashtags for their wedding day using their last names: #haywoodyoumarryme and #ballischained. That is wedding day perfection right there!
The reception was wonderful from their first dance to amazing speeches from Jackie’s Dad, brother and of course, Lee, who set them up. I was holding back tears for most of their words. They finished the evening surrounded by love and happiness, dancing the night away and enjoying their friends and family. Before we left, we snuck in one last night “speciality shot” in the cold!
Jackie and Josh you two deserve all the happiness in the world! I hope that you are staying warm and enjoying your “mini-moon” in Asheville. I know London will be magical in April. Thank you for trusting me to capture your memories. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
