Abigail & Rob are Married!

Abigail and Rob were married last week in Marion, Virginia at Rob’s Grandmother’s Farm. Their reception was at the Holston Hills Golf Course also in Marion. This was such a beautiful wedding day that words won’t do justice but I will try.

Abigail and Rob first met in their 9th grade English class. They both were interested in each other in High School but the timing was never right! They ended up attending different colleges and on July 2nd of 2017 Rob texted Abigail to say Happy Birthday. They have been texting ever since!

Their first date was on August 14th of 2017. Rob came to visit Abigail at school. They ate tacos, walked around Greensboro and had to outrun a train! Afterwards they went back to her dorm room and played card games.

Their proposal story is so romantic! Rob organized a trip to a hot air balloon festival but told Abigail that his family invited her. When they arrived Rob’s Mom “surprised” them with tickets to go for a hot air balloon ride. Abigail said “once we were in the air Rob let me know that he had a secret to tell me and that he had orchestrated the whole thing and that he had a question to ask me. Then he proposed.”

Coincidentally, on their wedding day they both ended up getting ready in Wytheville, Virginia. There is a water tower close by decorated like a hot air balloon! There was also a piece of art with a hot air balloon on it hanging in Rob’s Grandma’s bathroom. This is where Abigail got her hair and makeup done! If you want to see more of these two click here for their Kernersville, NC engagement session.

We started the day with Abigail and her bridesmaids at one of Rob’s Grandma’s houses. It was such a gorgeous place to spend the morning of the wedding. The girls were hanging out all over the house getting ready! Abigail was so excited for the big day to finally be here.

Abigail loves writing letters and her bridesmaids gave her the sweetest gift! It was a wooden box with “Dear Abigail.” written on the front. The inside was filled with letters from each of her girls.

Abigail and Rob also exchanged letters and read them while getting ready! After they were all dressed Rob headed over to have a private moment with Abigail. They stood back to back and held hands without seeing each other. This was one of my favorite moments of the day.

After a few more pictures we made the drive to Marion, VA to another one of Rob’s Grandma’s houses. This property is a huge farm with hay fields and rolling hills! It was one of the most beautiful backdrops for a wedding.

The ceremony was so touching. It was filled with joy, laughs and smiles! Rob and Abigail chose to take part in a candle lighting unity ceremony. Each of their Moms lit a candle before the wedding and Abigail and Rob used those flames to light one candle together.

Here comes the epic part! After the ceremony Rob’s Dad took us in his 4WD to through the wheat fields to the top of the hill overlooking the property. The wheat was so tall that it was covering the hood of the SUV! When we got to the top the clouds covered the sun and made for the most beautiful pictures. I am so happy we were able to get these. Two more spots we traveled to were a tree swing they had decorated with flowers and another tree they carved their initials into.

We headed to the country club for their reception and stopped by the river on the way in for a few sunset photos. As soon as we walked inside the reception space, rain started pouring outside. It was perfectly sunny almost all day long and the storm came out of nowhere. The timing was incredible.

After Abigail and Rob were introduced the rain slowed down and a rainbow appeared. Abigail loves rainbows so we headed outside to take a few more pictures. This day was so magical!

Abigail and Rob had the best group of family and friends with them. They were surprised with a synchronized dance and “rap” by friends, family and her brother. Then Rob surprised Abigail with a song he performed with guys from his college a capella group. Everyone who attended this wedding danced and celebrated! It was so much fun.

Abigail and Rob said goodbye to their guests with a fun sparkler exit. They laughed, ran through and kissed and dipped!

Abigail and Rob I am so happy for you two. I wish you all the happiness and joy that married life brings! Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your memories. I hope you are having the most amazing time on your cruise!
