Kara and Daniel were married last Saturday at the First Baptist Welcome church in Welcome, NC. They had their reception at the Old Homeplace Vineyard in Winston Salem, NC. Their day was filled with friends, family, laughter and lots of love.
Kara and Daniel met in May of 2013 at a high school chorus concert. Kara said that they were both shy and didn’t speak to each other but that his smiling face left a good impression on her. After their first meeting, their mutual friends set them up on a date.
In June of the same year Kara and Daniel went on their first date. Kara said that they “discovered we shared several similar interests. Most notably, we both had a personal relationship with Christ and placed great importance in our faith. We enjoyed learning from each other and developing a foundation for our relationship to grow.”
Daniel surprised Kara with a proposal in December of 2017. He had her Mom call Kara while she was attending Western Carolina and ask her to visit Biltmore and also tell her that she could invite Daniel. Daniel had planned the entire thing.
Kara tells the story best so here are her words: “The Biltmore House and Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning. The weather was beautiful and my parents indicated that they wanted to take Christmas photos. We walked to the front of the house and Daniel and I got in place to take pictures. There, at The Biltmore House, on that perfect day, with my family present- Daniel got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I could have not asked for a more perfect moment with a better person.”
These two have a strong foundation rooted in their faith and their family. On the wedding day they were calm and balanced together and able to express their love and excitement. If you want to see more of them click here for their Lexington, NC engagement session.
Kara and Daniel’s wedding day began at the First Baptist Welcome church. Kara was almost completely ready when we arrived and she was ready to be married! She was wearing the cutest floral robe and we headed outside to take pictures with her and her bridesmaids.
Kristin went with Daniel and his groomsmen while they were getting ready. Daniel’s nephew Ward stole the show for part of the day and loved being in front of the camera. Ward made everyone laugh and brought even more joy to this happy day.
During the ceremony Kara and Daniel held back tears as they saw each other. Their loved ones looked on as they exchanged vows and became husband and wife. They took part in the Unity Cross ceremony to symbolize their union as one locked together with three nails representing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
After the ceremony we headed to to Old Homeplace Vineyard for their stunning reception! Every part of the reception venue was decorated beautifully. There were pictures, wood accents, flowers, quotes, candles and more. I loved all the attention to detail and beautiful accents they included. They thought of everything!
Once they were announced as husband and wife they ate and we headed back out for my favorite part of the wedding day. I always try to schedule sunset photos and I am so glad we had time for them on their wedding day. Kara and Daniel got to relax, enjoy the golden light and take beautiful pictures overlooking the vineyard.
We were lucky to have amazing Spring weather all day! It was partly cloudy and in the 60’s to 70’s. We couldn’t have asked for a better climate.
Kara and Daniel celebrated and danced the night away. They exited under the light of sparklers to and headed to their hotel for the night. The next morning they flew off to their honeymoon.
Kara and Daniel thank you so much for choosing me. I feel blessed to have documented all your memories. I hope you are having the most amazing time on your cruise in the Caribbean!
