Morgan & Brian are Married!

Morgan and Brian were married last Saturday at The Design Center Atrium in Charlotte, NC. Their reception was at Byron’s South End right next door. Their wedding day was so memorable and I am excited to share it with you all.

Morgan and Brian were set up on a blind date by his mother and her best friend. Morgan had known Brian’s Mom for 14 years, she was her middle school volleyball coach, but she had never met Brian. Brian connected with her on Facebook and asked her on their first date.

Morgan said that the first date was wonderful with a few funny moments. Brian picked Outback Steakhouse and she didn’t have the heart to tell him she doesn’t eat red meat so she ordered a chicken quesadilla. He wanted to drive her but she insisted on meeting him there. The waiter came over and Brian was planning on paying but Morgan told the waiter to split the check. Despite it all, they ended up going on three more dates in that first week!

Brian planned the proposal during their trip to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. Morgan’s entire family was there with them. Brian had a proposal spot picked out under a large tree in Audubon Gardens, however the routes were blocked due to parades. With 11 adults in an 8 passenger van they headed to the French Quarter.

They walked around the quarter and the whole group stopped in front of the fountain at the St. Louis Cathedral. Brian was supposed to signal Morgan’s sister by asking if she could take a picture however Morgan ended up being the one asking! Brian got down on one knee wearing his purple Mardi Gras suspenders and asked Morgan to marry him!

Morgan and Brian are so perfectly balanced. They love each other with passion and ease. On their wedding day you could see the love beaming out of both of them. If you want to see more of them you can click here for their downtown Charlotte engagement session.

Their wedding day began at Morgan’s parents house in Concord where Morgan and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The girls were already finished with hair and makeup when we arrived! They were relaxing by the fireplace drinking mimosas, listening to music and laughing. What a perfect way to start your wedding day.

Kristin went to hang out with the guys while they were getting ready. Brian and his groomsmen were across the street relaxing. They were playing foosball, pool and darts.

After Morgan put on her stunning wedding dress she had her first look with her Dad. Happy tears were shed all day long and this was just the beginning of that. After the first look with her Dad it was time for Morgan and Brian to see each other.

Morgan and Brian stood outside her parents house as their bridal party looked on. Brian turned around and had the biggest grin on his face. As they walked towards each other they both were overcome with emotion. It is a beautiful sight to witness when two people love each other so fully.

After bridal party pictures we headed to the venue to take family formals and get ready for the ceremony. The Design Center Atrium is a beautiful place to get married. The architecture and the large windows make it so visually appealing. The staircase was decorated with greenery and roses.

Morgan’s brother officiated the ceremony. It was one of the most heartfelt ceremonies I have ever been a part of. I think he has a career in officiating if he wants it! There were lots of tears and lots of laughs.

After a few more pictures of Brian and Morgan we headed to their reception at Byron’s South End. This is a newer venue with a gorgeous open floor plan, stunning light fixtures and lovely decorations. Morgan and Brian had an amazing band called the Moonshine Party Band that kept the crowd on their feet and dancing the whole time.

My favorite part of their reception was their decision to have open seating with some tall cocktail tables and a roving plan. Meaning there weren’t enough seats for everyone to sit down so this encouraged fun and dancing. The food was set up in stations all around throughout the night so you could eat as much as you wanted and whenever you wanted.

After lots of dancing and drinking their guests stood outside waving balloons and cheering. Morgan and Brian walked through the balloons and kissed and dipped on the street. They headed to a local hotel for an afterparty to continue the night! I am positive that it was just a continuation of their fun party.

Although Morgan and Brian’s wedding day was cold and full of rain they never let it dampen their spirits. They vowed to love each other through the sunshine and the storms and they made that clear during their first day as husband and wife.
