Cherry and Jose were married at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kernersville, NC last Saturday. Their reception was at the Meridian Convention Center in Greensboro, NC. This day was so filled with so much fun and love! 

I adore Cherry and Jose’s story. They first met in High School and were best friends. They actually went to Senior Prom together as just friends! After about a year and a half as friends they started dating. They have known each other for over 10 years but have been dating for 8 and half.

Their first official date was for Cherry’s 18th birthday. They went out with a group of their friends to LongHorn Steakhouse and then to a park to hang out. Their friends didn’t know they were dating so they kept it a secret!

In August of last year Cherry and Jose had a photography session scheduled among sunflowers. Jose decided it was the perfect time to propose to Cherry. The pictures are incredible and their dog Archie was there too! 

Cherry & Jose have such an amazingly strong bond. They are truly best friends and complement each other perfectly. They are supportive, kind, loving and funny. They are amazing people. On the wedding day they made time to thank each of their guests for coming and made sure everyone was taken care of! Their wedding day began at Cherry and Jose’s house where Cherry, her bridesmaids and her Mom and Grandma were getting ready. The ladies were listening to music, getting their hair and makeup done and drinking mimosas! I finally got to meet their dog Archie and he had the cutest little button up shirt to wear.

My second shooter Kristin headed to a house where the Jose and his groomsmen were getting ready. They finished getting ready outside and Jose opened an Armani Exchange watch that Cherry gave him as a present. My favorite detail were his socks with cherries on them! 

After Cherry finished getting ready it was time for her first look with her Dad. They both had misty eyes and huge smiles when they saw each other. Jose and Cherry have amazing families and it brings me so much joy to see them beginning their journey as a family of two!

The ceremony was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church. They had a traditional Catholic mass wedding. They incorporated several special traditions during their ceremony. They had both of their mothers speak. They were anointed with holy oil as a symbol of spiritual protection for starting their new life together. Two of their grandparents laid a lasso rosary over them in a figure eight symbol. The figure eight represents that they are committed for life. Lastly, they presented roses to the Virgin Mary and prayed to her before finalizing the ceremony.

After the ceremony we went outside for some of the most gorgeous Autumn photos ever! The light was incredible. Who would have predicted that November 17th the leaves would be this beautiful? Thanks to all that summer rain!

Their reception space was the Barcelona Room at the Meridian Convention Center. This ballroom was so bright and beautiful with lovely decorations and enough space for the 450 friends and family members who celebrated with them. My favorite part of their reception was the mariachi band that followed them in as they were announced as husband and wife. 

It rained almost the entire week before Cherry and Jose’s wedding. On the day of their wedding we were blessed with sunshine and clear skies. The weather could not have been more perfect!

I loved this wedding day so much and these two have a special place in my heart! Thank you Cherry and Jose for choosing me to be a part of your big day. I wish you so much happiness and joy.
