Sarah and Christian were married last week at Westglow Resort and Spa in Blowing Rock, NC.
Their wedding day was beyond perfect. It was everything Sarah and Christian wanted and more!

Sarah and Christian wanted a small, intimate wedding. They chose to have just 12 of their immediate family members present. They planned a relaxed, stress free wedding day to celebrate their love.

I love weddings of all kinds but intimate weddings have a special place in my heart. Chris and I also got married in the mountains with just a few people present. You get to spend so much time with the person you love on your wedding day!

Sarah and Christian started dating about a year and a half ago. For their first date they met at an Irish pub and had dinner at the Tavern in Old Salem. After dinner they walked around Old Salem and had coffee together.

Christian and Sarah are an adventurous couple. They love the outdoors, traveling and the mountains. In March they headed out for a weekend trip to Boone to hike and camp.

It was calling for 7-10 inches of snow that day. As they headed up the mountain they slid off the road twice and even had to dig themselves out. They finally arrived at the trailhead and hiked together to the top of Roan Mountain in sleet, snow, and wind. Once they got to the top Christian told Sarah they were going to take a photo, like they always do, but instead of the camera he pulled out a ring! Christian said “we both agreed that the hike down was way warmer and quicker than the hike up!”

As soon as you meet Sarah & Christian you trust them. They are two of the most genuine and kind people you could meet. The way they make each other smile is a delight to see. I started off their wedding day at a beautiful house that Sarah’s family had rented. It had an amazing view of the mountains. Sarah was calm and relaxed. One of her sisters curled her hair and she put on her own makeup. She is so naturally beautiful!

Sarah’s Mom and sisters helped her into her dress, shoes, veil and earrings. Everyone was so happy and excited for this day to be here! Most of her family had traveled in from Florida for this day.

After Sarah was dressed I headed to Westglow Resort and Spa to see Christian and his family. Westglow Resort is a perfect location for a wedding. The resort has views of the mountains all around, a gorgeous white house with timeless decor and perfectly manicured gardens.

Christian and his family were hanging out in the living room area. Christian was grinning from ear to ear and so excited to be getting married! His Mom put his boutonniere on as we waited for Sarah to arrive.

Their ceremony was stunning. Sarah & Christian’s brother and sister in law sang and played guitar while Sarah walked down the aisle. Sarah & Christian exchanged rings and vows while overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. As they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife they were both full of joy. I love seeing people so in love and happy!

After family pictures we walked around exploring the property while they basked in that “just married” glow. It was midday and within less than an hour we had everything from bright sunshine, to cloudy blue skies, to overcast and raining! We even headed inside to get some pictures on the gorgeous staircase.

After pictures I headed out while they stayed to eat lunch and cake with their family at Westglow. What a perfect way to relax and celebrate. I am so happy for these two!
