Chrissy & Justin were married last week at Luna’s Trail Farm and Event Center in Westfield, NC. Their wedding was one for the books! I had such a hard time choosing pictures for the blog. There were so many great moments during this day.
Chrissy & Justin met while attending college at George Mason University. She was a freshman and he was a senior. On their first date they played basketball at the gym.
Chrissy said they both weren’t sure if it was a date. Chrissy wanted to get to know him better before they started officially dating. They ended up sitting on the court talking for 3 hours. They played some basketball too and Chrissy impressed him with her skills!
Chrissy is from Pittsburgh and they went to visit her family this past October. Justin wanted to re-create one of the nights they spent there. It was an evening they spent together the first summer they were dating. It was also the first time he had visited her and her family there.
On that October evening, Justin ended up proposing on Mount Washington. Mount Washington overlooks the city. Chrissy’s “favorite part is that Justin was so nervous he dropped the ring, and my brother captured an amazing picture of this.” After seeing the picture, I’m really glad it went towards the camera and not over the overlook!
Chrissy & Justin are such an amazing couple. They are supportive and kind to each other. They love each other fully and laugh together often. If you want to see more of their laughing you can click here for their Pilot Mountain engagement session.
We started their wedding day hanging out with the girls in their amazing cabin. Luna’s trail has the best cabins for wedding parties! The girls were relaxing, drinking mimosas and playing games.
Chrissy was finishing getting her hair and makeup done. She is always so beautiful, vibrant and joyful! She was even more so on her wedding day.
Brittany headed to Justin’s cabin to get some pictures of the guys getting ready. They were playing pool, taking shots and relaxing. I love the pictures Brittany got of Justin relaxing in the leather chair. He looks so happy!
There were so many thoughtful letters and gifts during this day. Chrissy gave her Mom and Justin’s Mom bracelets from Alex and Ani. One said I Pass the Torch/Mother of the Bride and the other said My Other Mother/Mother of the Groom.
Chrissy and Justin opened handwritten letters from each other and gifts. Chrissy got Justin a watch and Justin got Chrissy and necklace. Justin also wrote a letter to Chrissy’s parents.
Chrissy had a first look with her Dad. During the first look they were both all smiles. Chrissy loves the outdoors and her Dad brought a waterski for them to take a picture with after the first look!
One of my favorite moments of the day was the First Touch between Justin and Chrissy. We brought Justin to the cabin and they held hands and talked. Justin shows his love so freely for Chrissy and with so much emotion! These two are the best.
Their ceremony was held inside Luna’s with the fireplace in the background. They brought in a gorgeous wood arbor with greenery covering it. Charming Carolina Events & Weddings and Sedgefield Florist did an amazing job setting the scene. There were candles in glass votives sitting on wooden stumps. It was straight out of a movie. I told Chrissy it reminded me of the Twilight wedding scene!
Chrissy & Justin’s ceremony was filled with happy tears, laughs, prayers and joy. Justin was so overwhelmed with emotion before he said his bride. Everyone in the crowd started smiling and “awing” when they saw him.
Chrissy & Justin’s family read verses from First Corinthians. They tied the Cord of Three Strands. At the end of the ceremony each person hugged someone next to them. This day was full of love!
One of my favorite pictures of the day was taken right after the ceremony. Chrissy and Justin were kissing and talking to each other in that “we just got married glow.” I said “you just got married” and they both turned to look at me had the biggest smiles and said “yayyyyy!”
The flowers at Luna’s were in full bloom and I love all the pictures we got with the black-eyed susans. I told Chrissy and Justin to head towards the lake. They were so happy they started dancing their way down there. Justing started spinning her around. It was another one of their fairytale movie moments!
Chrissy and Justin were surrounded by family and friends. During the reception they had a romantic first dance. There were many speeches from their loved ones and they even gave a speech of their own thanking everyone for coming (even their vendors). This couple is the salt of Earth.
We snuck out for sunset pictures and we got the most gorgeous glow and pictures of the mountains. Chrissy and Justin went with the flow all day long. I know they were able to soak up and enjoy all the precious moments of their day.
They finished the night eating cupcakes and dancing. Justin’s Grandparents stole the show for a little while with their dancing! The forecast was calling for rain and thunderstorms. We were blessed with perfect weather all day long. Then the rain came during their exit picture! I was excited because I was finally able to use my umbrella for a nighttime picture!
This day could not have been better. Thank you Chrissy and Justin for trusting me to capture your memories. You are both amazing people and you deserve the best in life! I imagine that you are relaxing on the beach in Costa Rica with a drink in your hands right now. I sincerely hope that you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
