Taylor and Michal’s wedding took place last Saturday at a private residence on Lake Norman. It’s going to be hard to describe how amazing this wedding was in words. Since the first time I met Taylor I have been looking forward to this day.
Taylor and Michal were set up by a mutual friend. They started texting before they met. Michal was at work and Taylor asked if he wanted anything from Chick-fil-A. She says she was thinking that he would say no. However, he said yes and she brought him food. It was the first time they met in person. She jokes that she paid for their first date.
Taylor has a daughter Emery who is spunky, sweet and adorable. Emery, Michal and Taylor were meant to be a family. It was truly an honor to photograph the love between all three of them. Emery was there when Michal proposed to Taylor and she was at the altar when they married.
Michal and Emery have an amazing bond. Watching these three become a family was incredible. They included Emery in every part of the day. Although she is young I have no doubt she will remember some of this day forever.
Michal and Taylor built a strong foundation through loving each other. I admire them both so much. They laugh together, cry together and just enjoy life together! To see more of them click here for their engagement session and here for Taylor’s bridal session.
Their wedding day started in a house overlooking the lake. Family and friends helped create this intimate ceremony and reception. Taylor was getting ready with her girls. The room was full of joy and celebration. At one point Emery was running around the house wearing a veil that said “Future Mrs.”
Michal helped put some details together outside. Then he got ready and relaxed by playing pool with his groomsmen and one groomswoman. Everyone at this wedding knew how to have a good time.
One of the sweetest parts of the morning was watching Taylor help Emery into her little white dress. She buttoned up the buttons, adjusted her flower crown and buckled her sandals. I can picture this happening again when Emery is getting married and I know that they will both cherish these memories.
Taylor warned me that she and Michal were “criers.” I told her that I would be crying right along with them. Little did I know that everyone in the wedding was going to turn into a crier later on in the day. For me, there is so much strength in sharing your humanity through tears and laughter. There were tons of both this wedding day.
During their first look Michal and Taylor both got emotional. They were beyond excited to be married. Then Emery had her first look with Michal and she immediately showed off her painted green nails that she had chosen at the salon the day before.
Both of Michal and Taylor’s dogs were hanging out during the wedding day. Max and Chops or “Lady Lamb Chops” make a couple of adorable appearances on the blog. Max even stepped all over Taylor’s dress right after the first look!
The ceremony overlooked Lake Norman. Some boats and jet skis even stopped to enjoy their marriage. There were so many personal touches. Taylor walked down the aisle with her Father and Emery. Michal’s Mom prayed over the couple in Polish.
Emery held hands with Taylor and Michal the entire time. Then all of us were left in a puddle of tears as Michal read his handwritten vows to Emery. Even Emery was crying. It was one of the most touching moments I have ever witnessed at a wedding.
As soon as they were announced as a family Taylor and Michal went into their first dance. Of course Emery was a part of it and not once did either of them ask her to go with someone else. We even scheduled portrait time for them as a family. I’m telling you this family was written in the stars!
Taylor is such a down to earth bride. She was barefoot the whole wedding day and as soon as everyone ate she told them to go change clothes and get comfortable! She even changed into something comfy before their exit.
Michal loves his girls so much and you can see how that started with loving his Mom and sister. He is fun, caring and not afraid to show how he feels. I have so much respect for Taylor and Michal. They are an amazing couple and the best parents to Emery!
Taylor and Michal I am so grateful I was able to watch you become a family of three. I know you are loving your Disneymoon. You both deserve it so much. Thank you again for trusting me to capture your memories. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
