Jessie and Travis were married last Monday at the Forsyth County Government Center. I am still amazed at how lucky I was to be able to photograph their ceremony and pictures. They had such a beautiful wedding surrounded by some of their closest friends and family.

Jessie and Travis met years ago at Ruby Tuesday in Oahu where they both lived at the time. Jessie said her Mom was a bit of an instigator and can take credit for their relationship! Jessie ended up giving Travis her phone number before they left and what a good decision that was. They have officially been together for close to six years.

They moved here about two years ago for Travis to attend medical school. They decided to have a non traditional wedding in Winston Salem and have pictures and dinner at Jeffrey Adams on Fourth after.

These two have so much fun together. They have about a thousand inside jokes. They constantly laugh and have such a playful and amazing relationship. You can clearly see the joy that they bring to each others lives.

We met right before their first look at the Forsyth County Government Center. Jessie wanted a first look with Travis and with her Dad. There was so much nervous excitement and emotion all around and everyone was so happy to see these two be married! Jessie and Travis brought purple orchid leis for the parents and made corsages and boutonnieres for their friends and her brother.

Jessie wore a beautiful white orchid haku lei and Travis wore a a ti leaf lei with white orchids. They incorporated beautiful traditions from Hawaii here in North Carolina. They even brought macadamia nut chocolates for everyone. They are the most thoughtful and kind couple!

The magistrate who married them did an amazing job making them feel special and allowing family to gather around and take part in the ceremony. After the ceremony we went outside to take pictures with their family and friends.

Once those pictures were done Travis sweetly helped Jessie change into some comfortable shoes and we headed to explore some places in Winston. I loved traveling all over the city with them and we even stopped by the Yoda mural because Jessie loves Star Wars. She said when we talked about that picture it may have convinced her to book me!

The weather went from feeling like warm spring to a cold fall day. We had heavy cloud cover that would occasionally clear to let the sun through and winds that would gust and then die down. It was a perfect day to be married and the wind turned Jessie’s hair from stunning to magical!

Jessie, Travis and I ended at a roof top deck in Winston overlooking the city. The clouds could not have been more beautiful and I’m pleased with how the photos turned out.

Jessie and Travis I am so happy for you two and I wish you both a lifetime filled with the kind of joy that you bring to other peoples lives. Thank you again for trusting me to capture your memories. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
